Directions to Annie's Guest House From The Port of Tyne International Passenger Terminal
If you are travelling by car then you can print out door-to-door driving directions here.
Drivers may also find this International Passenger Terminal map helpful (pdf).

If you are using public transport DFDS Seaways operate a shuttle bus service to/from Newcastle Central Station to the Port of Tyne International Passenger Terminal. They are timed to coincide with DFDS cruise ship arrival and departure times. These buses transfer to Newcastle upon Tyne (journey time: 15 minutes) and North Shields.
These buses are easily identifiable by the DFDS Seaways logo on the side. The transfer costs £3.50 for adults and £2.50 for children.
Once you reach Newcastle Central Station follow signage to the underground Metro station (opposite the main ticket office) and take a yellow line train to South Shields.

Detailed timetable information for this route can be found here.
Tyne & Wear Metro ticket prices are as follows (correct December, 2010)
Newcastle Central Station to South Shields - single (one-way) off-peak (after 9am) journey costs £2.90. If you will be returning to Newcastle upon Tyne later that day we recommend that you initially buy a return ticket for £3.80. If you are returning to South Shields later that day we recommend that you initially buy a DaySaver ticket for £3.90 which allows a full day of Tyne & Wear Metro travel.
An evening DaySaver is £2.30 (for journeys after 6pm) - this is cheaper than the Newcastle Central Station to South Shields single fare.
A child's DaySaver ticket (under 15) is £1.10.
WednesDaySaver's are also available (only on Wednesday's!) for £2.70 (after 9am). Again these are cheaper than the Newcastle Central Station to South Shields single fare.
Also SunDaySaver tickets covers upto four people, (minimum of two children) for £3.90 (less than a pound each!) for a full days' Metro travel. You can also use this as a couple or as two adults with one child.
More information on Metro fares, weekly passes and transfer tickets (for using other forms of public transport - e.g. bus and ferry services) can be downloaded here (pdf document).
Once you have arrived at South Shields Metro station our guest house is a ten minute walk from South Shields Metro station. Take the bus station exit from the Metro station (as opposed to the King Street exit), turn left and walk towards the Fowler Street shopping area of South Shields. At Fowler Street turn to your right and follow the road straight up to a set of traffic lights. These traffic lights are the start of Beach Road. Turn left at the traffic lights and walk along Beach Road, crossing straight over the small roundabout. We are door number 106 on the right hand side of the street, half way along Beach Road.
