Sunderland Empire Theatre is a 1,860 seat theatre located on High Street West in Sunderland, SR1 3EX. The theatre was opened in 1907 and is one of the largest theatre venues in North East England. It regularly hosts large-scale musicals, opera, dance showcases and ballet productions. The Birmingham Royal Ballet are regular visitors to the theatre.

For visitors to Sunderland Empire Theatre we recommend using St Mary's Car Park as this is a short walk to/from the theatre.
Public transport from our bed and breakfast accommodation to Sunderland Empire Theatre and Sunderland city centre is excellent. You can catch a bus from the bottom of our street that takes you to Sunderland city centre in 20 minutes. More information about this bus route can be found here: #20 Sunderland Bus.
