Shields Ferry Suspension

Home > Tyne & Wear > South Shields > Mill Dam

The Shields Ferry service that crosses the River Tyne will be closed for one week to allow for the completion of essential maintenance work on the South Shields ferry landing.

The North Shields to South Shields ferry service will be suspended from Monday 25th February until Sunday 3rd March 2019.

A replacement bus service will be offered however this bus service is unable to accept cyclists.

Today Westlife announced their first UK and Ireland tour in seven years which will include a performance at Newcastle Arena in Newcastle upon Tyne on Friday 31st May 2019.

Tuesday 5th June at 5pm and 7:30pm; Wednesday 6th June at 5pm and 7:30pm; Thursday 7th June at 5pm and 7:30pm; Friday 8th June at 5pm and 7:30pm; Saturday 9th June at 2pm and 5pm and Sunday 10th June 12:30pm and 3pm.

Performances last 1 hour 45 minutes and under 2’s go free sitting in their parents lap.
