Kuzey is a new Turkish and Mediterranean restaurant due to open at 168 Ocean Road, South Shields, NE33 2JQ.
The new menu restaurant on Ocean Road, South Shields can’t open yet due to the COVID-19 pandemic but they have launched their take away menu.
Kuzey’s Turkish and Mediterranean take away menu is as follows…
COLD STARTERS
1. HUMUS £2.95 (v)
Chickpeas, blended with tahini paste, fresh garlic, lemon and olive oil.
2. CACIK £3.00 (v)
Cucumber dip with creamy yogurt garlic and fresh dill, mint and olive oil.
3. KISIR £3.50 (v)
Bulgur wheat with crushed walnuts, spring onions, peppers, celery, tomato, parsley, dill an dressed with a pomegranate sauce.
4. SAKSUKA £3.50 (v)
Fried aubergine, potatoes, red and green peppers, fried in a tomato sauce.
HOT STARTERS
5. FALAFEL £3.95 (v)
Deep fried hand rolled croquettes of crushed chickpeas, red peppers, green pepper celery tossed with fresh herbs and served on humus.
6. MUSKA BOREGI £4.00 (v)
Deep fried filo pastry rolls filled with feta cheese, parsley and herbs.
7. HALLOUMI £4.25 (v)
Grilled halloumi cheese.
8. CIGER KAVURMA £4.25
Pan fried Lambs Liver served with an onion salad.
9.GARLIC MUSHROOM £3.95 (v)
Pan fried mushrooms with lots of garlic cooked in tomato sauce.

Homemade Turkish bread with lashings of garlic butter.

Char-grilled marinated cubes of lamb served with rice, house salad, homemade Turkish bread.
14. MIXED SHISH £9.50
A mix of char-grilled marinated cubes of chicken and lamb served with rice, house salad, and homemade Turkish bread.
15. KABURGA (Lamb Ribs) £8.50
Char-grilled seasoned tender lamb ribs served with rice, house salad, and homemade Turkish bread.
16. MIXED GRILL £12.95
A selection of marinated char-grilled cubes of lamb and chicken, Adana kebab and lamb chops served with rice, house salad, and homemade Turkish bread.
17. ISKENDER KEBAB £8.50
A choice of Adana kebab, chicken or lamb shish on a bed of toasted bread with garlic yogurt, tomato sauce and and a drizzle of butter. (£1 extra for lamb).
18. PIRZOLA (Lamb Chops) £12.50
Char-grilled tender lamb chops lightly flavoured with herbs. Served with rice, salad, and bread.

19. LAMB MOUSSAKA £8.50
Oven baked layers of minced lamb, aubergine, courgette, carrots, topped with creamy bechamel sauce and cheese.
20. OVEN BAKED CASSEROLE £8.50
Chicken or lamb oven baked in a clay dish with aubergine, carrots, onions, peppers, garlic in our signature tomato sauce. Served with rice. (£1 extra for lamb).
