How To Get To And From The Concert
The Stadium of Light is easily accessible by road and public transport.

The venue is served by two Tyne & Wear Metro stations and there is ample parking in the city centre, from which it is just a short walk to the stadium.

By Road
If travelling from NORTH of the stadium…

From the A19 follow signs for A1231 Sunderland, then yellow signs for Park & Walk.

If travelling from SOUTH of the stadium…

From the A19 follow signs for A1018 Sunderland then signs for Park & Walk and use city centre car parks.

Metro Services
Concert goers with purple, red or yellow entry tickets should alight at Stadium of Light Metro Station.

Concert goers with blue, orange, platinum, green and accessible (pink) entry tickets should alight at St Peter’s Metro Station.

Metro will run an extended service after the concert with trains departing from Stadium of Light Metro Station and St Peter’s Metro Station only.

You should join queues at either station immediately after the concert to be sure of getting your train home.

Both queues move at the same speed.

Drop Off & Pick Up
The designated drop off and pick up points are Dame Dorothy Street (approximately 0.5 mile walk).

Taxis
Pre event drop off point is Monk Street.

Post event all collections will be in the city centre.

Parking
There is no public parking available at the Stadium of Light, with parking immediately around the venue also extremely restricted.

Residential streets in the vicinity of the Stadium are also subject to parking permit restrictions.

Roads immediately surrounding the stadium will be closed to all traffic on the day and there are no vehicle pick up or drop off areas on or near the stadium.

There is a park and walk in operation – Sunderland Enterprise Park, no pre booking required.

Site Plan & Entry
There several different entry points to the stadium.

Your ticket will have a colour coded entry point on it which corresponds with your designated entry gate.

The 3D map shows a comprehensive plan of the stadium and surrounding areas.

Food & Drink
There will be an extensive range of food and drink available to purchase both in the courtyard and stadium itself.

Concert goers are not permitted to bring their own food and drink in the stadium.

Challenge 25 protocols will be in operation.

Please bring proof of ID to show you are over 18 in order to purchase alcohol.

Restricted Bag Policy
All ticket holders will be prohibited from bringing any bag into the stadium unless it adheres to the regulations outlined below.

Any bags not adhering to these restrictions will be refused entry.

All items and bags carried by attendees will be inspected upon entry.

BAG TO BE NO LARGER THAN A4.

Prohibited Items
Please do not bring any of the following with you as you will not be allowed to enter the site if any of these items are found in your possession… alcohol, bottles, cans, cameras (DSLR/SLR) with detachable lens, chairs, flags with poles, flares / distress flares / smoke flares, food, glass, knives, liquids (over 100ml), illegal substances (drugs), laser pens, megaphones, professional audio-visual recording equipment, pushchairs/prams, selfie sticks, smoke bombs / canisters, large umbrellas (small telescopic umbrellas are permitted), weapons.

Keep up to date with all the latest information about the concert on www.safc.com/concerts (opens in a new window).

Please check the web site regularly as information is updated on a regular basis.

Cashless
The Stadium of Light is a cashless venue – please plan accordingly.

New #19 Bus Timetable

If you are staying with us and planning a visit to North Tyneside by public transport then the Go North East 19 bus service has a new timetable valid from today.

The Go North East 19 bus service links North Shields ferry landing; Rudyerd Street, North Shields ; Royal Quays Outlet Centre; Percy Main Metro Station; High Flatworth; Tyne Tunnel Trading Estate‘s Second Avenue; Silverlink Shopping Park; Cobalt Business Park; Northumberland Park Metro Station; Shiremoor; Seaton Delaval; Cramlington; Bedlington and Ashington.

If you are staying at our bed and breakfast accommodation and attending training courses at either AIS Survivex North Shields (formerly AIS Training North Shields) or Maersk Newcastle the stop at Tyne Tunnel Trading Estate’s Second Avenue is the one to use.

Tyne Tunnel Temporary Traffic Lights

If you are staying with us between Monday 18th and Friday 22nd March and plan on driving north through the Tyne Tunnels please be aware of a five day temporary traffic light trial that is taking place on the A185 loop road that joins the northbound tunnel entrance.

Great North Run

Newcastle upon Tyne road closures

From 8pm on Saturday 8th September until 6pm on Sunday 9th September 2018 – The North West Radial (Jedburgh Road A167) and associated slip roads between Grandstand Road and the Great North Road; North Terrace Between Claremont Road and Town Moor.

From 6:45am until 6pm on Sunday 9th September 2018 – Central Motorway East (A167) (M) and associated slip roads between Great North Road and Tyne Bridge; Tyne Bridge; Claremont Road between Grandstand Road and Queen Victoria Road; Hunters Road between Sheraton Street and Claremont Road.

From 10am until 11am on Sunday 9th September 2018 – Jesmond Dene Road at its junction with Great North Road; Great North Road (Northbound) at its junction with Grandstand Road; Great North Road (Southbound) at its junction with Grandstand Road.

Temporary waiting restrictions are will also be in place between 7am and 11am on Sunday 9th September on Ponteland Road – on it’s south side from the access road to Wingrove House rear car park to its eastern junction with A167 Jedburgh Road.

Gateshead road closures

8:45am until 5pm on Sunday 9th September 2018 – A167 Central Motorway including Tyne Bridge Interchange to A184 Park Lane; A184 Felling Bypass to White Mare Pool Interchange (Leam Lane A194).

6am – 7pm on Sunday 9th September 2018 – Quayside Road.

8am – 7pm on Sunday 9th September 2018 – Sandhill; Swing Bridge; Bottle Bank (access to Hilton Hotel only); Pipewellgate; Hillgate.

6am on Monday 3rd September until 11:59pm on Sunday 9th September (to allow for the installation of a temporary running track for the Great North CityGames).

South Tyneside and South Shields road closures

A183 Coast Road from 8am-6pm between Redwell Lane and New Crown Roundabout.

A183 Mill Lane from 9:45am-6pm on Western Side between Kitchener Road and Arthur Street.

A194 Leam Lane eastbound carriageway from 9:45am-5pm between White Mare Pool and John Reid Road.

A1300 John Reid Road eastbound carriageway from 9:45pm-5pm between Leam Lane and King George Road.

A1300 Prince Edward Road / Redwell Lane from 9am-5pm between King George Road and Coast Road.

B1303 Station Road southbound lane from 9:45am-5pm from Coronation Street.

C411 Bents Park Road from 2:.45am-5:30pm between New Crown roundabout and Sea Way.

C412 Mowbray Road from 9:45am-6pm between Westoe Road and New Crown roundabout.
