Booking.com Phishing Messages

We are being contacted by guests who have booked accommodation with us via online travel agent Booking Holdings who are concerned about receiving messages asking for payment.

Online travel agent Booking Holdings operates using a vast ‘white label’ affiliate network and different website brands to sell our room inventory.

Some of their most well known online travel agency brand names are Agoda, Booking.com, Kayak and Priceline.

Guests who have booked accommodation with us via Booking Holdings are reporting receiving messages via the online booking site’s messaging platform, email and Android/iOS application asking for payment.

We have included a few examples of these messages below…

None of the above messages are genuine.

We do not send messages like the above to our guests.

If you have received something similar to the above and have sent money or supplied your card details as requested please contact your bank or card issuer’s fraud department immediately.

If you have received messages similar to those above but have not responded to the payment request we advise you to contact the online travel agency brand eg Agoda who you used to make the reservation to verify what pre-payment is required and if any payment needs to be made.

Do not use contact information supplied in the suspected phishing messages to contact your online travel agent.

Use your favourite online search engine and use the contact information supplied on their official website to contact them.
