BRIT award winner James Morrison has been announced today as one of the headline acts for this year’s Mouth of the Tyne Festival.

Three years after his last show at Tynemouth Priory & Castle sold out in record time, the popular solo artist is set to return this summer.
Chart-topping James is playing only a handful of dates this year and has chosen the Tynemouth setting to perform hits from his three platinum albums on Saturday 13th July 2013.
Tickets for Mouth of the Tyne Festival cost £25 each plus booking fee go on sale from 9am on Thursday 7th March on the TicketMaster website.
North Tyneside Elected Mayor, Linda Arkley said “I am delighted to welcome James Morrison back to North Tyneside.
Securing another high calibre music act for a sixth consecutive year is testament to the event being established as one of the North’s favourite summer festivals.
Tourism is worth £243million to the borough’s economy and this festival is a key event in our calendar.”
Best known for the hits ‘You Give Me Something’, ‘Wonderful World’, ‘You Make It Real’ and ‘I Won’t Let You Go’, Warwickshire-born James Morrison is an English singer-songwriter and guitarist who has enjoyed chart-topping success since his rise to fame in 2006.
As well as James Morrison, Tynemouth Priory & Castle has played host to a number of big name artists over the past few years including The Wanted, McFly, The Script, Scouting for Girls and Beverley Knight.
Supported this year by Kier North Tyneside, the four-day festival features live music, theatrical entertainment and special one-off performances.
