The New Sundial pub on Sea Road, South Shields have introduced a new Sunday lunch menu.

The New Sundial Pub Sea Road South Shields Exterior

The New Sundial pub is located a few minutes walk from us on Sea Road down the street from our bed and breakfast accommodation.

Their new Sunday Lunch menu includes starters for £5.95, mains for £10.95 and desserts for £5.95.

Two courses cost £14.95.

Sunday lunch is served from 12 until 4pm.

Tyne & Wear Derby at the Stadium of Light

For the first time in seven years Sunderland Football Club will host Newcastle United at Sunderland’s Stadium of Light in a third round FA cup tie.

A ticket allocation of 6,000 for away fans has been confirmed for the derby match on Saturday 6th January 2024 with kick-off at 12:45pm.

Tickets go on sale at 10am on Monday 18th December 2023.

Prices start at £32 for adults, £29 for over 65’s, £24 for under 22’s and £14 for under 16’s.

Away supporters will be situated in the North Stand Upper and North Stand Lower.

Travelling to and from Sunderland’s Stadium of Light and our bed and breakfast accommodation by public transport is easy.

You can catch a bus at the bottom of the street – Westoe Road that takes you directly to The Wheatsheaf at the top of Roker Avenue, immediately adjacent to the Stadium of Light in Sunderland.

If you are a supporter of either club attending the match at the Stadium of Light we have accommodation available for the derby weekend.

Monday 9am until 12 noon
Tuesday 9am until 12 noon
Friday 1pm until 4pm

We offer a same-day return wash/dry/fold laundry service for our guests.

This is priced per 10kg.

eg upto 10kg wash/dry/fold for £10; upto 20kg wash/dry/fold for £20.

The above prices are correct at the time of writing in December 2023.

Collection is at 11am daily with same-day return at 4pm.

If the above laundry service is not suitable for you then The Launderette is a couple of minutes walk from us on Broughton Road.
